Printers Row Apartment Building
This 365-unit apartment building, constructed mainly of terra cotta and brick, is located in Chicago's Historic Printers Row. Eugene Matthews rebuilt extensive sections of the building's walls and corners, which included the removal and replacement of approximately 160,000 brick. Five hundred pieces of severely damaged terra cotta, as well as 2,500 sections of shelf angle, were carefully removed and replaced by our qualified mechanics. Eugene Matthews also removed and replaced 35,000 lineal feet of sealant at nearly all of the building's windows. A significant portion of this project's work was performed on a specially constructed, hydraulic mast operated work platform. This was one of the largest such platforms ever employed on a downtown Chicago restoration project.
