Glass Curtainwall Sealant Repair

This notable West Chicago Loop high rise required the replacement of approximately 150,000 lineal feet of defective sealant joints over much of the curtainwall. The condition of window glazing joints, panel to mullion joints and window frame to mullion joints required that old, cracked and defective sealant be removed and replaced. Skilled mechanics were utilized to cut out and replace all existing sealant, thoroughly clean the joint surfaces, and prime as required prior to the installation and tooling of new sealant.

Eugene Matthews, Inc. also removed and replaced over 4,900 bricks at the Lower Wacker Drive portion of the building.

Work was closely coordinated with building management to minimize any inconvenience to tenants.
