18-Story Concrete Facade

This 18-story building, located in downtown Chicago, required caulking and painting. 136 windows were caulked over 3,500 lineal feet. The sealant at the south elevation parapet and the east and west elevations was removed and replaced. EMI installed new soft cell backer rod and one part urethane sealant. Eugene Matthews worked to ensure that new caulk colors were matched to the existing caulk.

The balcony railing and soffit were painted on the south, east, and west elevations. Two colors of elastomeric paint were applied. The paint colors were chosen to match the existing paint. Four large and ten small concrete patches were also installed.
